Lee Eok-gi
조선 중기의 무신.
경흥·온성부사를 역임하면서 북방의 경비에 만전을 기했고 임진왜란 때 당항포·옥포해전에서 크게 승리했다. 이순신이 원균의 참소讒訴로 투옥되자 무죄를 주장했으며, 칠천량 해전에서 전사했다.

A military subject in the mid-Joseon Dynasty
As Lee Eok-gi served as Kyeongheung Onseongbusa, he made a full defensive preparation of the northern region, and made a big victory at the sea battle of Danghwngpo and Okpo at a time of the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592. With Yi Sun-shin put in jail due to Won Kyun's false charge, Lee Eok-gi argued Yi Sun-shin's innocence, and he died in action in the sea battle of Chilcheonryang.
